Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about Roblox music distribution, lifetime music hosting, Subsonic playback, and Clippsly memberships.

What is Clippsly?

Clippsly is a one-time-payment music platform that combines Roblox music distribution with lifetime private music hosting. One account works as a creator profile for publishing tracks to Roblox, and as a listener library for storing and streaming your own music through Subsonic-compatible apps.

How does Clippsly distribute music to Roblox?

Upload a track to your Clippsly artist profile and turn on Roblox distribution. Clippsly publishes the audio so it is available inside Roblox experiences that use it. Artist memberships include 10, 30, or 50 monthly track uploads depending on tier, with unlimited Roblox music distribution on every paid tier.

What music hosting features do Clippsly listeners get?

Listener accounts include permanent private music storage starting at 1 GB free, up to 24 GB on Producer. Upload singles and full albums, build playlists, choose a storage region (London, New York, Los Angeles, Germany, Singapore or Sydney), and stream your library through the built-in player or any Subsonic-compatible app. Extra permanent storage is sold per gigabyte.

Does Clippsly work with Subsonic?

Yes. Every Clippsly listener account includes a Subsonic endpoint and an app password, so your library works with Subsonic clients such as Symfonium, play:Sub, Substreamer, Subify, and others on Android, iOS, and desktop.

Do Roblox plays pay royalties?

No. Clippsly does not pay royalties for Roblox plays, and neither does any other distributor on the platform. Distributing music to Roblox is a way to reach players in your games, not a way to earn streaming royalties.

Can I switch between artist and listener on the same Clippsly account?

Yes. You can switch your account type between artist and listener up to three times for free. After that, each additional switch is £3. Your existing storage or monthly upload allowance carries over to the new mode.

How much does Clippsly cost?

Free accounts are available for both artists and listeners with no card required. Paid memberships start at £2.99 one-time for Newbie, £5.99 one-time for Standard, and £9.99 one-time for Producer. Nothing renews and there are no subscription fees. Regional pricing adjusts the total at checkout.

Is Clippsly a subscription service?

No. Clippsly memberships are paid once and stay yours for life. Storage you add is also permanent, not rented. The only follow-up costs are optional extra storage, optional account type switches after the third, and the paid add-ons listed in your dashboard.

About us

About us

Five volunteers. Started in 2022. Still small.

Clippsly is a tiny company built by people who care too much about music platforms to let someone else own theirs.

Who we are

Clippsly started in 2022 as a side project between five friends who all had the same complaint about music platforms: too expensive, too locked down, too full of features nobody asked for.

We liked Roblox. We liked the idea that a kid with a laptop could put their track in front of millions of players. We hated that doing it usually meant giving up ownership of your music, paying monthly fees, or accepting that your library could vanish if you stopped paying.

So we built Clippsly. Pay once. Keep your files. Keep your library. No subscription, no lock-in.

We're still five people. None of us are full-time. Most of us have day jobs. We run this on evenings and weekends because we actually care about it, not because anyone is paying us a salary to.

What we care about

Young artists

Most of our users are teenagers or early-twenties producers uploading their first tracks. We love that. We built the platform for them, not for established names.

You own your music

Your files. Your storage. Your library. If you stop using Clippsly, your tracks don't disappear. We try to make leaving as easy as joining.

No subscriptions

We don't like subscriptions either. Pay once, keep your tier forever. We don't want you to keep paying us just to keep what you already paid for.

Tools, not toys

We try to ship things that actually help. No gamification, no streaks, no fake engagement metrics. Just tools for uploading, sharing, and listening.

The team

Five people. We do everything: code, support, moderation, design. None of us are paid for this.

Feedback team

Volunteers who help test new features and report bugs before they ship. They're the reason we don't break things as often as we used to.

How we work

No ads. Ever.

We don't run ads. We don't sell data. We don't take VC money. We make what we make from memberships and storage, and we tell you exactly where every penny goes.

Talk to a real person

Support goes to a small inbox, not a chatbot. We've answered thousands of emails ourselves. Sometimes it takes a day, sometimes less. Nobody's in a hurry except you.

We break things. We fix them.

Five people shipping a platform this size means stuff breaks. We tell you when it does and we fix it fast. Status updates go on the blog and on Discord.

No launch events. No press tours.

When we ship something, we ship it. We don't run hype campaigns or "coming soon" pages. We just build it and tell you it's there.

That's us

If any of that sounds good, give Clippsly a try. We think you'll like it.
